Murfkins' Page
What is a Murfkins? It's a Murphy and a Jenkins combined. I have a 1987 Jeep Wrangler. I bought it in 1989 with 40k miles on it, it now has 176k miles on it. It has a 2" Old Man Emu lift; Rancho 9000 in back and Pro Comp 3000 up front; Sport King All Terrain 31x10.50x15 tires on factory Jeep mags; Dana 44 with Power Loc in the rear; stock Dana 30 up front, each has 3.73 gears in them; Tru-Radius brush guard with Bosch fog lights; Lizzards bumper in back; nerf bars; 4.2L stock engine with Mopar MPI fuel injection; NP 231 transfer case, mated to a Peugeot transmission; a custom center console with 6 disc JVC CD changer; Kenwood box speaker with 2 10" woofers and 2 5 1/4" mids and 2 2" tweeters and Pioneer plate speakers in the stock location of the dash; an alarm system; hard top; soft top; bikini top with toneau cover; Herculiner covering in the tub. I do most of the work my self, the only things I won't do is transmission and setting up gears in the pumpkins. Future projects: Slip yoke eliminator, 4:1 reduction gearing in the transfer case; new gears in the pumpkins, probably 4.56s; 33 or 35 inch tires; winch; roll cage; swing away tire carrier; grease able seals for the front axels;
I also own a 2000 Nissan Xterra. I bought it to tow the Jeep to far away places when I go wheeling. I took it wheeling in Pagosa Springs, Colorado two weeks after I bought it and proceeded to wreck the front end by hitting a deer on the way home from wheeling. I also took it wheeling in Lake City, Co in July of 01, you can see the pix from that trip on the Wager gulch page.
